Travelocity was launched in 1996 as a joint venture of Sabre Holdings and Worldview Systems Corp; and was run by information technology executive Terry Jones. In the latter half of 2000, American Airlines Publishing and Travelocity launched Travelocity Magazine, which was a bimonthly magazine with a circulation of 250,000. Travelocity sold its ten millionth airline ticket in October of 2000.
